MiLLi* is Namibia’s new Media and Information Literacy Learning Initiative and was initiated in 2015 by MATS, the Media Arts Technology Studies of the College of the Arts in Windhoek. MATS is the implementing partner of MiLLi* Namibia. MiLLi* at MATS offers certified qualification for Media and Information Literacy (MIL) facilitators and sets standards for MiLLi* projects and activities in educational settings.
From the very beginning, the National Youth Council of Namibia (NYC) is a partner within the initiative and supports all MiLLi* outreach activities in the regions of Namibia through its strong structures and over 40 partnering youth organisations.
For the first four years the MiLLi* kick-off is supported by Deutsche Welle Akademie, Germany’s leading media development organisation. The DW Akademie Namibia Office assists by bringing together international MIL experts and Namibian educators; creating expertise for implementing a Namibian strategy for MIL development.
MiLLi* wants to grow and therefore we need you! Become part of the FaMiLLi* – become part of the Initiative!
